I Beat Anorexia 2

Glass Half Full, Crack on Bottom

A short commute home tonight.  Not as much traffic as usual.  Perhaps too many people are crammed up near Woodward in anticipation of the Dream Cruise or the NASCAR fanatics have already started BBQing out in Brooklyn for the races.  I know not that many people are in their cars headed for Baltimore and Snakes on a Plane.  I could be wrong.  But really.  It's only Tuesday.  Isn't it?

Anyway, it occurred to me that in just a couple of months it would have been dark on the ride home.  Not looking forward to that.
Just finished reading Drop City by T C Boyle.  Those hippies couldn't cut it in the 6 month night of rural Alaska.  Even the eternal daylight summer seemed like an intolerable swamp hell.

God bless the 42nd parallel.  Liked the book, though.  Not a cartoony caricature of free love hippies in the late 60s.  You really understood the emotions and values of people who took drugs and screwed all day long.  It seemed real, to me.  CLUE: I'm one of those people that love everything I read.  If I don't like it, I just stop reading it.  If I finish it, I like it.  I guess you can label me a "book quitter."  Anything wrong with that?  I don't care if there is.  Eat ham and die.
